KTECH and the University of North Alabama are partnering to give KTECH graduates an opportunity to further their education once they complete their KTECH certifications. UNA and KTECH leaders have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow KTECH students to build on the education they receive at KTECH and continue to hone skills that can get them into the work force.
“Our goal with KTECH is to give students much-needed job skills and launch their careers in industry,” said Lee Marshall, CEO and Founder of KTECH. “We are excited that the University of North Alabama shares our passion for putting people to work and is ready to help our students who want to further the skills they learn with us.”
The agreement between KTECH and UNA will give KTECH students a chance to earn a bachelor’s degree at UNA. The agreement also provides a wealth of other benefits for KTECH and its students, including:
While enrolled at KTECH, students earn up to 12 credit hours toward courses in UNA’s Certificate in Mechanical Systems
Access to a UNA academic advisor for students planning to transfer to UNA
A $2,000 scholarship for all regular, full-time transfer students with a 2.75 or better transferable GPA
A 20% tuition discount for online graduate or undergraduate courses for full-time KTECH employees
KTECH and UNA also have agreed to explore other areas of mutual interest to enhance the excellence and opportunity in education for students, faculty and the community.
“UNA is proud to partner with KTECH on this important initiative,” said Dr. Katie Kinney, UNA Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “The agreement provides valuable academic pathways for those in KTECH to take advantage of UNA’s mechatronics programs as they prepare for their future careers. Further, it advances UNA’s unique profile as Alabama’s Workforce Development University.”
Since its inception in 2016, KTECH has issued more than 426 certifications in job disciplines including Mechatronics, Robotics, Soldering, Snap-on Tools and Virtual Reality.
