Paul joined KTECH in January 2021 as a part-time Mechatronics instructor after taking early retirement from Texas Instruments in December 2020.  His focus at KTECH is on Electrical Components and Digital Fundamentals / Programmable Logic Control (PLC) courses.

Paul has 30 years of experience in the electronics industry, which includes a wide range of challenging roles including Analog Integrated Circuit Designer, Business Unit Manager, Kilby Research Lab GM and technologist. During his time at TI, Paul created a motor control lab which later became a key part of the motor control business unit. Paul is the inventor / co-inventor of more than 12 U.S. patents. Throughout his career, Paul has been equally passionate about recruiting and mentoring new engineers as he was about developing new technology.

He grew up in Huntsville where he graduated from Butler High School. Paul earned his Bachelors of Electrical Engineering in 1991 and Masters of Electrical Engineering in 1992 from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His career led him to live in Los Angeles and Dallas before returning to Madison in 2018 to support his family and to be close to Maranatha Camp and Conference Center in Scottsboro AL where he is a founding board member and currently serves as board chair.  

Paul married his best friend 30 years ago and has two children in college and one in high school.  He shares his passion for cycling, hiking, camping and all things outdoors by serving as assistant scout master with Boy Scout Troop 83 in Madison.
